Title: How Are You?
Spring 2019
This piece took me back to when I was a little girl, my mom and I used to make stamps out of potatoes and while I am taking some time away from the print studio, I thought it was the perfect time to bring this back. This piece is about the transition between winter and spring and the transition out of seasonal depression. I personally, along with many others, suffer from seasonal depression every winter. The transition for me is hard occasionally because some times, like this year, the heaviness lingers even when it starts getting nicer outside. The sun and the colors start to come back I still don't feel my happy normal, depression-less self, even though I know it will pass as it always does. I am, however, lucky enough that it will pass when the sun comes back out; some people suffer from depression all year round. This is a reminder of that. Check in on the people you love no matter the season. Just because the flowers are back, does not mean everyone is feeling happy.
